Meet the Founder

Renate Matthews has been a business educator in the city of Detroit, who has been preparing youth for both entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial endeavors, for more than 20 years. She founded SYNC in 2019 and SYNC YPD in 2024 because she is adamant about providing as many types of growth-mindset opportunities as she can for future young professionals in her city and beyond. She has seen the brilliance of our youth get overlooked time and time again, and it is her goal to help them see it in themselves first, and then show the world.
Born, raised, and still residing in the great city of Detroit, Renate is a loving wife of 36 years, a mother of two dynamic adults, and a grandmother of one very special gift of a granddaughter with whom she travels and who has been an entrepreneur in her own right since she was six years old. HalleluYAH is the highest praise and she is truly thankful and humbled that she has been given the charge to SYNC youth to the wisdom that they can gain from practicing being thankful and from a community of successful business professionals, who-look-like-them. If you are interested in forging ahead on this path with her, either as a partner or as a member of our business community, please send Renate a message and connect with her directly via LinkedIn. |
